A2 Tennis Tournament

Jackson sweated through many t-shirts he had to change shirts half way through the match because they weighed so much from his sweat.

Jackson played in a local tennis tournament this weekend. He played a match Thursday, one Friday and two today. He won all but the last one so he made it to the semi-final round. I was quite impressed first of all because he serves much faster than I have ever seen and he is able to draw one of the biggest crowds of the tourney. Every one wanted to watch his go go gadget arms get all the shots. It was fun to watch all his matches and now I have a sweet sunburn to boot. Stay tuned, Jackson might enter the doubles tournament, I would put my money on him cleaning house if he does.

local summer festivities

Jackson is to cool for school in his new sunglasses. The only ones he has owned since he bought aviators as a joke in high school. Pam and Jordan came with us to the summer festival.
If only you could have seen the people dancing...
We went out to eat for restaurant week with Pam, Jordan, Mike and Kara.
Hello Mr. Bean.

The summer festival. Our favorite thing to do is go watch people dance.

the arb

We went to the Arb last week. After one picture of Jackson he hijacked the camera and wouldn't let me take any more. Here is his photo essay. The first picture is the beginning of a path that got us lost. We finally found ourselves after about 45 minutes of walking.
I made a fairy house in the fairy woods.
My fairy house. Fairies are big in Ann Arbor.

The peonies.
Woo hoo another picture of me. And the one and only picture of Jackson. Camera hijacking is hereby outlawed.

bang for your buck

I like to watch Bang for your Buck on HGTV sometimes. They show what you can get for however much money in different places across the country. Here is my Bang for your Buck, also known as, Why Cara decided they should move to Texas. Here is what I found, these are all in the same nameless price range. This is what I do when I get bored, feel free to laugh at me.
*Disclaimer- None of this is Jackson approved, he laughs at me when I tell him I want to move to Texas.

Danny's visit

Danny came to visit us last week for part of his visit we drove up to see Ali and Jade and their family.

The siblings, could you get three more different hair colors? They have it all covered.

Jackson and Danny skipping rocks, they are so precious. This picture is very Norman Rockwell-esque.

The group at Ali and Jade's

Jackson and his board results.

Jackson and Danny drove into Detroit to see the Tigers play. They were almost on TV.

This picture is randomly in the middle of the post but I am too lazy to move it. Dave and Danielle stopped by on their way to PA. Jackson's parents were also in town but unfortunately I didn't get a picture with them.

While Danny was still here we drove out to Lake Michigan. Apparently is doesn't get warm until July or August.

Jackson and the boys in the mini van. Sweet hat, don't you think?

Jackson showing Danny the art of teeth flossing.

As well as his official cubicle in the clinic.

A little guitar hero to finish it off.
Thanks for coming Danny! I hear the Yankees are coming to town sometime if you want to see them too!

5k

Last week I ran my first race. I trained for several months with my running partner Jackson. Unfortunately for Jackson I run much slower than he does so he got some great practice running sprints up and down the street until I would catch up to him. Lucky guy. As for the race I ran the whole time and finished 30th in my age division! It took me 30:10 to finish. Jackson told me that before he saw me coming they announced that a paraplegic was getting close to the finish line and he said he just hoped I would beat them. I did.
Just in case you were wondering we are wearing those t-shirts because I signed up with a bunch of people from work...

homerun and fondue.

We took our old tennis balls to the park last week and played home run derby with our friends.

Kara and Jordan and Pam in the outfield.

Jackson pitching to Mike

I got a little bored after a while. I can't catch balls with a mitt on my hand.

Jackson hitting some ground balls and me hitting them out of the park. Or the other way around.

Kara and Pam taking a swing at it.

Hanging out on the mound.

We had a goodbye fondue party since the McConkie's and Olson's are sadly leaving us thus chopping our Utes fan base in half.

We played some good bye Harry Potter scene it. The girls won.
