Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! We are missing our Dad's today, but we are so appreciative of everything they do for us. We can't wait to see them in the coming weeks.

Weekend Fun

We went to a fun festival downtown this weekend. They had a band playing and it was quite an experience. They had one singer, who I think was tone deaf, sing a song. She had two dress changes during the song, it was quite the performance. We went with Jordan and Pam.
This man was the main attraction. There was a large group of people dancing their hearts out in the front.
Tonight we went to our friends, the Skousens, house to try out their new player piano. It was so much fun, I fully intend to own one some day.
Ryan serenaded us while Camille pushed the pedals.

The sunset was beautiful on the walk home tonight.

Peonies in the Arb

Jackson had been waiting for months to see the peonies, he could hardly control his excitement.

The flowers were beautiful. We had a great time. Jackson was quite the sport to make the trip with me.

Tornados

When Jackson and I first moved here we saw these large mega phone things on the top of the telephone wire posts. We could not figure out what these mega phones were for. Two of our best ideas were that they broadcast the football games all over town (because football is nearly a religion out here) or maybe they were air raid sirens from World War 2 or the Cold War era. (Can you guess who guessed what?) We didn't learn what they were until I was talking to a friend, who has lived in tornado country before, she informed me they are tornado warning sirens. You may be wondering where this seemingly random post came from, it is because there is a tornado warning here today, I haven't heard the sirens yet. Maybe they just turn them on when it is a really serious warning.

I can only imagine what we would have thought of this siren!

Oh Canada...

The bridge back to the US of A

Views of Detroit

This is the reason we went to Canada. To watch air races, but the races were cancelled because of the wind. Luckily we still got to see some of the show airplanes. They were still pretty fun to watch. The F 18 nearly blew us away.
