dear neighbors

Dear Neighbors,
We don't really get you. Sure, clean cars are nice but do all three of your cars really have to be cleaned inside and out every single Saturday? Your cars are nice, we can respect that, but maybe a little dirt will give them some character. Honestly, save the whales, take one week off. Go do something fun.
From,
The neighbors who give you funny looks every Saturday as we drive by in our dirty Dodge that hasn't been cleaned in two years.
P.S. We know we shouldn't be proud that it has been so long since we cleaned our car but at least when we come home every Saturday we had fun. You just cleaned your car all day long. Literally.

happy birthday!!!!

Here are some things that I like about Jackson:
He uses catchphrases like "I'm in a dilly of a pickle"
He is really good at compromising- Some day I get to go to Australia, France, New York and London. So long as each trip coincides with the tennis open associated with that country i.e. Australian Open, French Open, US Open or Wimbledon.
His favorite monopoly piece to play with is Mr. Moneybags.

Happy birthday Jacks! Now let's go get you some nice black balloons! Good thing you are only 27 this year and not 28 like we thought!

happy birthday week

2 more days until Jackson's birthday! To honor this fact I will share a story about Jackson with you. For our Utah wall (below) we compiled Utah tickets from games that we have gone to and put them in a frame. I keep all my tickets in one place (I am a pack rat I keep most of my tickets). I couldn't find the Fiesta Bowl ticket though and I knew there was no way I would have thrown it away. When I asked Jackson about it he thought about it for a minute and then told me that he thought he had seen it the other day. He went upstairs and came back with the ticket. When I asked him where he found it, "The important documents folder." Yes, Jackson stored the Fiesta Bowl ticket with our birth certificates, passports and marriage certificates. I think this takes his devotion to the U of U to a whole new level.

utah wall and eastern adventures

We just got back from a trip out East to Pennsylvania and Delaware. In PA Danielle took us to an antique store where we found the Utah flag thing. My friend Rachel suggested we start a Utah wall with it. Brilliant. One step closer to Utah Super-fandom. If any of you Utahans see anything appropriate for our new wall let us know!

We visited West Chester, PA where all the buildings down town are on the National Historic Registry.

For the Fourth we were in Wilmington. We went and listened to the Delaware symphony play and watched fireworks after.

One of my favorite Fourth of July's.

We visited Lancaster County with Dave and Danielle and took a tour with this Amish guy.

Jackson and his new ride.
We went on a tour where we learned about the chocolate making process from singing cows. We also went to the chocolate theme park.

Before going on our vacation we went to one last night of the summer festival.

Where we saw this guy, in head to toe knitted clothes and hat. Sweet.

Things you learn about Jackson from his yearbook #2

You may have to be from the Salt Lake Valley to appreciate the humor of this one. I couldn't stop laughing.

Elliot loves Jackson (but not in the East way)
(Jackson said I need to clarify, this is paraphrased from what Elliot wrote, almost a direct quote.)

Most of his other friends love him too. It's a brotherhood thing.

Jackson's birthday month

Welcome to July, the month of Jackson's birthday. In honor of Jackson's birthday I will periodically be posting things you can learn about Jackson by reading his high school year book. So you can get to know Jackson in a whole new way.
#1-
Jackson aka "Jackie" was supposed to start the NDBA. Not familiar with the NDBA? Shame on you. It is the National Dunk Ball Association and Jackson is President. Apparently Dunk Ball was big back in the day.
