5k

Last week I ran my first race. I trained for several months with my running partner Jackson. Unfortunately for Jackson I run much slower than he does so he got some great practice running sprints up and down the street until I would catch up to him. Lucky guy. As for the race I ran the whole time and finished 30th in my age division! It took me 30:10 to finish. Jackson told me that before he saw me coming they announced that a paraplegic was getting close to the finish line and he said he just hoped I would beat them. I did.
Just in case you were wondering we are wearing those t-shirts because I signed up with a bunch of people from work...

homerun and fondue.

We took our old tennis balls to the park last week and played home run derby with our friends.

Kara and Jordan and Pam in the outfield.

Jackson pitching to Mike

I got a little bored after a while. I can't catch balls with a mitt on my hand.

Jackson hitting some ground balls and me hitting them out of the park. Or the other way around.

Kara and Pam taking a swing at it.

Hanging out on the mound.

We had a goodbye fondue party since the McConkie's and Olson's are sadly leaving us thus chopping our Utes fan base in half.

We played some good bye Harry Potter scene it. The girls won.

salt lake city

We went home over Memorial Day for a quick trip, highlights include...
Jackson and Griffin with Griffin's children... including little Jackson.

Savannah and I took pictures of my family at Brunch. Everyone made much more interesting faces with Savannah behind the camera.
We planned our trip well because Trevor, Katherine and Savannah were visiting the same weekend.

Behind the family photo shoot, Savvy is a natural!

We played Wii boxing at Danny's house.

I went for a bike ride up City Creek with my Dad and Chelsea, they just about killed me.

We had a fun BBQ with some of our friends. By the way Paige, I liked the Peach Izze but grapefruit and blackberry are still my favorite.

Jackson and Spencer manning the grill. It was fun to go home even for a short trip. We wish we would have had more time to see more people but hopefully we can see you all at Christmas!

boards are over!!!

Today Jackson took the written boards. So in honor of my days of being a study widow being mostly over (or really just celebrating the fact that Jackson has lived through them, a minor miracle) we went to eat at a fancy restaurant, Gandy Dancer, with Jordan and Pam. Then we pulled out the sparkling cider that Jackson put in the fridge almost a week ago, he has been excited for today. Now three to four weeks to find out if he passed, I think he probably did.

We also celebrated the official end of the second year of Dental School. The worst is behind us. Jackson was way excited, can you tell?

Jackson is famous

Jackson googled himself yesterday and found out that his dream has come true! See here, or here, or even here

Jackson's first reaction to this? "How does google know I like Utah football?"

It is actually his cousin who has the same name.

My hair for the Nauvoo Relief Society play, I was Leonora Taylor and was supposed to talk all day in an English accent. I didn't.

My costume for the play, I know you are jealous. I killed my four lines.
