halloween where I work

The Halloween party at work is serious. Here are some pictures, I have more when I get home. I had to show everyone how serious it is though. It took me by surprise.

Each office had a theme. In my office everyone dressed up as an element from the periodic table, I was mercury, as interpreted by a mercury thermometer. I am the big red blob in the middle.

reason #2

photo found here
"In a study conducted at the University of Durham, in England, researchers found that athletes in combative sporting competitions who wore red were more apt to win than contestants wearing other colors."

I found that in a Real Simple article about the 4 universally flattering colors. Just one more reason to love the U.

Reason we love the U of U #1

Guess what. It is that time of year, time for our weekly count down to the Utah/BYU game by telling the world all the reasons why we are glad we are Utes.

Reason #1
Because everything looks better in red.

why we are pansies

Jackson and I trade off making lunches on the weekdays. I didn't really want to make his lunch so I put this teriyaki bowl in his lunch bag. It looks good, right? When we bought it we didn't realize that the one we bought has tofu in it. Not just tofu, but dried tofu. It has been sitting in the pantry for months. Needless to say Jackson didn't eat the tofu teriyaki. I opened up my lunch box today to find that he returned the favor and sent tofu teriyaki with me today. I think I will be buying lunch today. Where is a food drive when you need one?

D.A.R.E.

Jackson is so excited he doesn't smoke.
What ever happened to D.A.R.E.? I have been amazed at the amount of people who smoke outside of the buildings between classes. Amazed. Huge groups of 18-25 year olds congregate outside the buildings to smoke. They obviously never watched this commercial.

In other news, my Dad and sister remembered this week why they were so glad when I graduated from college. Welcome back late night paper edits!

blogging: a method of procrastination

My Mom and Dad came to visit today, unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with the two of them, but we did have fun.
My Mom got enjoy some R&R during the day while I worked and Jackson was at school.

We made the few hours we had at night count. We perfected the art of the jingle bell wreath, made a feather Halloween wreath, fixed the shirt for my Halloween costume, and were very successful shoppers.

My Mom also helped me to finish my mini art gallery.

Hobbes likes to help me study.

I hope you enjoyed the fruits of my procrastination.
