Michigan vs. Ohio State

It was a very cold, wet day at the Big House. It rained the entire time and was about 34 degrees. We went with my brother Derek and my brother in law Ryan.
A bus with music blasting from it and people drinking and dancing all around it.
Go Big Blue
It is hard to tell but this picture really shows about 5 blocks worth of street filled with people.
This t-shirt was one of the only ones that I saw that was appropriate for blogging, most the others would have needed editing.
I think the attendance number was 111,940 people
It was the second biggest crowd in the stadiums history.

It was a very interesting experience to attend this game, disappointing but interesting. There was a very definite hostility between the fans, after the game there was a fight in the street between a very drunk Ohio State fan and a very angry Michigan fan, after the game ended an Ohio state fan was so touched by the victory he started to cry, those are just two experiences from the day. After the game ended and everyone was leaving it was really quiet, everyone was subdued, except the Ohio State fans who were cheering and singing. I have to say Ohio State has the only visiting fans that I have ever seen get an audible chant going around the stadium. All in all it was a very fun but cold day. We hope our other team has a better rivalry week outcome. Go Utes!
Here is a link to a movie on my sisters blog that has the cutest Michigan Fan!http://familyparker.blogspot.com/2007/11/hail-to-victors-valiant.html

Happy Veterans Day

This is a picture of my favorite veteran, my Grandpa! He served during World War 2 in the Signal Corps. He is amazing! I don't have a picture of him but Jacksons Grandpa is also a veteran of World War 2 in the Marines, he is also awesome, he still does push ups every morning! Click this link http://familyparker.blogspot.com/2007/11/grandpa.html to read a great post by my sister about my wonderful Grandpa, she also included one of my all time favorite pictures of him!

Harry Potter

I am about 9 years behind, yes it is true! I didn't start reading Harry Potter until last month. I just finished the fourth book last night and I have to say I am really enjoying the books so far! One nice thing about starting so late is that I don't have to wait for the next book to come out, all I have to do is go to my sisters house to get the next book, it is quite convenient!

Pizza Party

Nate and Missy making the pizzas

Heather was in charge of quality control
Camille and Eliza
Last week we had a really fun pizza party at our house. We made some delicious pepperoni, BBQ chicken, Thai and chicken club pizzas! It was really fun!

First Snow

I don't know how well this picture shows it, but we are getting our first snow today. I have to say that it is making me miss Utah snow storms, because they are just so beautiful and I love watching the hard snow come down and cover the ground, but it is still fun to see snow, even if it doesn't stick. In this part of Michigan, at least from what I have heard, the snow doesn't really stick, it gets slushy and they get ice storms.

The Rivalry

Yesterday Jackson got some tickets to an advance screening of Michigan vs. Ohio State the rivalry. It is a documentary on the rivalry made by HBO. So we went out to eat and then went to the Michigan theater, which is an absolutely beautiful theater it is one of the old fashioned theaters with an organ in the front and a stage that they use for plays. We got in a huge line and went in where we got a free book on Michigan's tradition. It was a really fun experience, I have to say I had no idea it was quite as intense as it is, Ohio has a song that they sing that says, "we don't give a damn about the whole state of Michigan." ( sorry for the swear word but that one is actually quite tame compared to some of the other things we heard ) We really enjoyed the movie we laughed a lot. The crowd was fun too, they booed some things ( and a lady who wore an Ohio State jersey ) they all stood up and sang the fight song, gave a standing ovation to Bo Schembechlers wife ( he was a coach here ). We also decided that we may need to get some blue jackets, we really stuck out last night in our red jackets, and not necessarily in a good way! After the movie Jackson was so pumped that he decided he wants to go to the game instead of selling our tickets!

Pretty Things

These vases are hand blown glass. I think that it would be so fun to learn how to blow glass .
I found these beautiful earrings today, and when I went to look at the seller I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are from Salt Lake City!
