Today Jackson came home from school and said "Let's start a new Christmas tradition! So we did, we listened to Christmas music on the radio (we are still looking for our cds from the move) and we cut out paper snowflakes. It took us a couple of snowflakes before the 2nd grade skills started to kick in, but we had fun!
Tonight we went to the last Creche exhibit ever. It was amazing, Creche is Nativity in french ( I think ). This is the 25th year our ward has done this exhibit. They feature around 1000 different nativities from 111 different countries. We made a slideshow of our pictures (it is kind of a fast one). It really was awesome and I am sad they will not being doing it again but so glad I got to go at least once. One of my favorite creches was the french santon village one, it was amazing. "A santon is a small hand-painted figurine cast in terracotta or a similar material that is used for building nativity scenes. Santons are a traditional product of the Provence region of southeastern France. A maker of santons is called a santonnier. The word "santon" comes from the Provençal "santoun," or "little saint." They became popular during the French Revolution, when the churches were closed and the larger, traditional nativity scenes in churches prohibited. Smaller figurines began appearing in homes, and quickly gained popularity." (From wikipedia)
There was so much more behind the Santon Village nativities but I don't think I could summarize it all here. Anyway it was amazing.

We have had a really fun Thanksgiving weekend. We had a great dinner with my sister and her family and another family from the ward. On friday Jackson woke up early to take advantage of the Black Friday deals. We went to the outlets and then drove up to. It was settled by German immigrants and they have tried to keep a germanic feel in the town. It was really fun, they had german restaurants and german chocolate stores all over the place. Frankenmuth is also home to the biggest christmas store in the world, Bronners. It was amazing there were so many things everywhere.
It was a very cold, wet day at the Big House. It rained the entire time and was about 34 degrees. We went with my brother Derek and my brother in law Ryan. A bus with music blasting from it and people drinking and dancing all around it. Go Big Blue It is hard to tell but this picture really shows about 5 blocks worth of street filled with people. This t-shirt was one of the only ones that I saw that was appropriate for blogging, most the others would have needed editing. I think the attendance number was 111,940 people It was the second biggest crowd in the stadiums history.
It was a very interesting experience to attend this game, disappointing but interesting. There was a very definite hostility between the fans, after the game there was a fight in the street between a very drunk Ohio State fan and a very angry Michigan fan, after the game ended an Ohio state fan was so touched by the victory he started to cry, those are just two experiences from the day. After the game ended and everyone was leaving it was really quiet, everyone was subdued, except the Ohio State fans who were cheering and singing. I have to say Ohio State has the only visiting fans that I have ever seen get an audible chant going around the stadium. All in all it was a very fun but cold day. We hope our other team has a better rivalry week outcome. Go Utes!
This is a picture of my favorite veteran, my Grandpa! He served during World War 2 in the Signal Corps. He is amazing! I don't have a picture of him but Jacksons Grandpa is also a veteran of World War 2 in the Marines, he is also awesome, he still does push ups every morning!
