Delaware Part 2

Ryan, Camille and company took us to Old Newcastle, a town that looks like it is still in the early 1800's at least, besides all the cars and that kind of stuff. It really was a fun town to walk around. Everything had closed at five so Jackson thought it must be a colonial ghost town. We saw gas burning street lamps and cobblestone that really is from the 1700's- it is very bumpy.

The Parker's in an alley way where lots of famous people walked through, I don't remember any of their names though. I think the house on the right was the one with a full size Obama cardboard cutout in their window.

Ryan and Camille took us to pick pumpkins with them and some of their friends.

We took the cats with us for two reasons, Eliza really wanted them to visit and Camille wanted them to kill her crickets. They meowed for about the first two hours each way and were quiet for the rest of the ride. We discovered they like cat treats on this trip, which Eliza was really excited about the would stand on their hind legs to get them. Eliza taught them some tricks- it was almost as good as having Boss Dog.

Reason to be a Ute.

Jackson and I decided to do a reason a week we are glad to be Utes up until the Holy War a.k.a. Utah vs. BYU.
Reason #1- When we say that we bleed red, we really do. Have you ever seen someone bleed blue blood? I haven't. Go Utes!

Delaware Part 1

This was a cat at Longwood Gardens, just sleeping inside the DuPont house. Kind of strange.

The Lake of Shining Waters

The coolest tree house I have ever seen, Longwood Gardens still.

Jackson next to a 1,000+ pound pumpkin.
Bennett and I hanging out in a climate controlled desert.

Jacqueline and John had us over for dinner on Sunday. Jackson took a nice nap while Jacqueline and I talked for several hours after John had to go to a study group. I miss my friends out here.

Luckily my visit to Camille coincided with Chelsea's for one day. We did all the sisterly things we could think of. The dressing room attendants were a little mystified when there was a flood of girls coming out of this one very small dressing room.

Delaware may be a random state to visit but it was beautiful.

good times

We went and played some doubles speed mitten this week. Unfortunately it is getting dark a lot earlier these days, fortunately we have a glow in the dark birdie.

When we first got married Jackson made me go through the various holidays with him and decide which are and are not gift giving holidays (apparently St. Patricks Day is not) but we did determine that the first game of the season is a gift giving holiday. We were a little late this year getting our gift but it came on Saturday just in time for the Utah game. Happy football season! Go Utes!

Politics....again

Congratulations to Joe the Plumber, you're famous! (I counted about 20 times they mentioned Joe the Plumber) Mr. Obama I was also keeping track of how many times you said "um" last night, I stopped after 40 in the first 15 minutes, about triple the times Mr. McCain said it. All in all the best debate, in my opinion. I loved how John McCain actually answered the questions. I think Barack Obama did himself a serious disservice by not doing the same, he treated some of the questions the same way Sarah Palin did, which is lame. Mr. McCain, you made me like you a lot more last night, but you still have Sarah Palin attached to you and quite frankly she scares me even with her "gosh darn its!" Mr. Obama, I still like you, maybe it was just an off night, maybe you should try being straight forward and less verbose. Just an idea.

By the way you can read all about Joe the Plumber here.

tagged

So I have been tagged again but since I just did a tag all about me I am going to do this one (seven random facts) all about Jackson. It will be way better this way I promise.

1- Jackson is the only person I have ever heard of who can hum and whistle at the same time, it sounds like a space ship is landing.

2- Jackson and his brothers have their own language, really. I bet none of you can tell me what a ba darn darn or a ba deer deer is.

3- Jackson has an internal cooking thermometer. He told me this week that he can tell the instant food is done just by smelling.

4-Jackson was something of a celebrity in high school. Where ever we go there are millions of people who know him. Next time you see him you should ask for his autograph, he is that famous.

5- Jackson will probably be very embarrassed when he reads this, he likes to fly under the radar. I like to stick him in the lime light when ever possible.

6-Jackson can sleep in like nobody you have ever met.

7- Jackson is way funny. He makes off hand comments that have people rolling. Just ask Griffin, I really do think he rolled one time.

Jackson likes to tease me by telling me that I am turning into a crazy cat lady. While I am not sure that I am, but everyday when I drive home I feel better knowing that at least I am not the crazy fake duck lady. Go Michigan!
