Thanksgiving

These are in no particular order thanks to the iphone, but they chronicle our Thanksgiving week in Texas with my family. Shopping at the outlets, nightly light parades, boating, Thanksgiving dinner, eating out around the town, etc., etc., etc. It was an awesome week.

operation contact joe tingey

Jackson and his friends launched a facebook campaign to contact their friend Joe who had been incommunicado for a while. To complete this operation we met the Scruggs' and Lawrence's in Dallasii this weekend to hang out and to see Joe and meet his fiance. It was a roaring success.
Proof that Joe is alive and well at Costa Vida.
We ate out, hung out and spent what little time was left sight seeing. The girls sent the boys home to play Mr. Mom while we went to Footloose. It was wonderful watching a chick flick without Jackson making it a "comedy" with his commentary.
We went to check out Cowboy Stadium and the Texans Stadium where the World Series is currently being played. The gift shop was the only part of Cowboy Stadium we could see without paying a small fortune.
So we made the most of their foam products.
We rented a house to optimize time spent together, it was awesome. We had a dance off with the Wii. It was a highlight of the trip. I was the only person who had had the privilege of seeing Jackson dance. And mind you these were his high school friends, they have known him forever.
Emily killed it, which was even more impressive than it would normally be given that she is 8.5 months pregnant.
A couple of random pictures. The finished 10 generation chart and Jackson trying to find his inner Texan.

randomness

Jackson is getting on my case for not posting for a while. Here are some old pictures. Mostly from my phone.
Two completely random pictures taken by Jackson. I think the first is showing how much we got rid of during the move. The second is Hobbes' vampire tooth which Jackson is fascinated by.
I spent several days spray painting furniture this summer. Hobbes likes to hang out in boxes.
Surfing behind my brothers boat. The cupcake place from the opening credits of Friday Night Lights.
This one is really old. I got really bored at work once.
Jackson in Newport.
Hobbes sleeping in our closet. Boss sitting in front of a sprinkler to cool off.
I dream of Frita Banditos every day. I swear I do. Anyone want to mail me one?
Jackson, Walker and Jordan grocery shopping. Jackson getting a feel for his dream table.

a season of utes

As with every fall we have been immersed with Utah football. We celebrated opening game day with some new red Toms and a new grill for Jackson (still to be purchased). We flew out to California to meet up with the Owen's to attend the Utes very first PAC 12 game against USC.

While in California we got to see the Newport Temple and John Wayne.
We also made the obligatory trip to the beach and it was fabulous.

This was before the seagull pooped on me, notice the smile.
And the game. It was fun even if we did lose.

On to the Utah/BYU game. We have lost our camera and so phone photos are all we have these days. Katherine went all out to get us geared up for the rivalry game. It was the best game ever. We got many examples of just how high Trevor can jump. Go Utes!

how to...

Rid a flat of flowers of a massive toad.
1. Check to make sure said toad is actually in the flat and confirm that wife is not exaggerating and/or misrepresenting the situation.
2. Get hose ready
3. Keep a safe distance in case toad chooses to leap out in your direction while being sprayed.
4. Check to see if toad has moved even an inch with water torture method. Move to backup plan of spooning toad out with hand shovel.
5. Success. Toad hops away.... about thirty minutes later.
